New Delhi: A day after the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) ended its 36-day protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar, a video surfaced on social media showing a man allegedly confronting, abusing and physically assaulting students who were reportedly associated with the demonstration.

The man has been identified by several politicians as Satyam Pandit, a Hindutva nationalist reportedly based in Ghaziabad. In the widely circulated clip, he is seen questioning two students about their identities and why they were supporting the CJP. When one student says he is Hindu, the man allegedly accuses the group of backing "anti-national students".

The video appears to show the man grabbing one student's collar, slapping him and forcing him to apologise while recording the incident. He is also heard threatening the student with further violence if he returns to the protest site. The exact date of the incident remains unclear, and the authenticity of the video has not been independently verified.

The incident prompted sharp political reactions. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav shared the video on X and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused, alleging that BJP leaders had once again betrayed students despite assurances made during the protests.

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra also called for strict police action, stating that the accused should be booked immediately and warning that an FIR would otherwise be filed.

The controversy comes shortly after the CJP ended its nationwide agitation following the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party had organised protests demanding his removal over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy. After Pradhan stepped down, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi was given additional charge of the education ministry, and the CJP announced that its demands had been fulfilled.
