Mumbai: A new CCTV footage showing the key suspect involved in the violent stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has surfaced, providing fresh clues in the ongoing investigation. The video, which was captured around 1:38 am, shows a suspicious man entering Saif’s Bandra residence building just before the attack. The man, his mouth covered and carrying a large backpack, appears to be preparing for the robbery that would later escalate into a brutal assault.

In addition to the CCTV footage, a picture of a portion of the knife that was used to attack Saif is also circulating online. Reports indicate that Saif was attacked with a 2.5-inch knife after the assailant entered his home through his son Jeh’s room in the early hours of January 16. The actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were dangerously close to his spine. 

Saif underwent surgery to remove the blade and is now recovering in the ICU. Police have recovered another weapon, an old sword, from his home, raising further questions about the attack. 

An FIR has been filed, with the caretaker of the house stating that the attacker demanded a ransom of 1 crore rupees during the robbery attempt.
