In an incredible turn of events straight out of a Bollywood script, 23-year-old Shraddha Tiwari, who lives near the MIG police station area in Indore, ran away from home on August 23, 2025 to elope with her boyfriend, Sarthak. She arrived at the railway station with high hopes—but Sarthak didn’t show up. Instead, he called her to say he no longer wished to go through with the marriage. Brokenhearted and adrift, Shraddha boarded a train, not knowing where to head next

Hours later, the train stopped in Ratlam—a place made famous by the film 'Jab We Met'. Here, Shraddha encountered Karandeep, an electrician who recognized her from their college days in Indore. Sensing her distress, he urged her to return home and inform her parents. But Shraddha was resolute: “I left home to get married. If I go back unmarried, I cannot live,” she told him

Impressed by her determination and moved by the situation, Karandeep proposed to Shraddha—and she accepted. Together, they traveled to Maheshwar–Mandleshwar and were married before making their way to Mandsaur

Back in Indore, Shraddha’s father, Anil Tiwari, had mounted a frantic search mission. He offered a reward of ₹51,000 and even displayed Shraddha’s photograph upside down outside their home to draw attention

On Thursday, Shraddha finally called her father from Mandsaur to let him know she was safe. He advised the newlyweds to check into a hotel and return to Indore the next day. However, many hotels refused them entry, so Anil sent Karandeep money for train tickets instead

Once back in Indore, Shraddha and Karandeep visited the MIG police station to record statements. Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotia confirmed that both are being questioned as part of the investigation

Although relieved his daughter is safe, Anil said the family would keep her and Karandeep apart for ten days. “If, after that, Shraddha still insists on living with Karandeep, we will accept the marriage,” he stated
