New Delhi: A Turkmenistan national allegedly injured himself with a knife outside a hotel in central Delhi’s Paharganj after creating a ruckus over accommodation, police said on Thursday.
The incident happened outside White Glow Hotel, where the man, identified as Jeyhun, had stayed from January 20 to February 10.

According to police, Jeyhun returned to the hotel on February 11 in an unstable condition and was allegedly under the influence of an intoxicating substance. He demanded a room despite claiming he had no money to pay for it.
Hotel staff informed him that no rooms were available. Enraged, he reportedly pulled out a knife he was carrying and inflicted injuries on his throat.

The hotel management immediately alerted the local police. However, by the time officers reached the spot, Jeyhun had already lost a considerable amount of blood.
He was rushed to Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC) Hospital and admitted for emergency treatment.
A subsequent medical examination confirmed that he was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident, police said. PTI
