Ghaziabad, UP: Tensions flared in Indirapuram on Friday after a group of right-wing activists from the Hindu Raksha Dal stormed into a KFC outlet, demanding a halt to the sale of non-vegetarian food during the holy month of Sawan.

The incident, captured on video and widely circulated on social media, shows members of the group shouting religious slogans such as ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ while waving saffron flags.

One clip shows protesters forcefully pulling down the shutter of the fast-food outlet, pressuring staff to shut down operations.

The demonstration comes amid the ongoing Kanwar Yatra, a month-long pilgrimage that began on June 10 and involves lakhs of devotees walking from Haridwar to local Shiva temples.

During this period, many Hindus observe strict religious fasts and abstain from consuming meat, prompting some groups to call for a ban on non-vegetarian food sales in public spaces.
