New Delhi: The death toll from the blast near Red Fort has risen to 12, with three more victims succumbing to their injuries, police said on Tuesday. The powerful explosion occurred on Monday evening when a slow-moving car detonated at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station. Initially, nine deaths and 20 injuries were reported.
Following the incident, Delhi Police registered an FIR under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosives Act in connection with the blast. Raids are underway at multiple locations, and the national capital has been placed on high alert. Security has been intensified with strict monitoring at airports, railway stations, and bus terminals.
