New Delhi: A disturbing video allegedly recorded by Dr Umar Un Nabi, the prime accused in the November 10 Red Fort blast, has begun circulating widely across social media platforms.

The undated clip was filmed before the high-intensity explosion near the Red Fort Metro station that killed over 12 people and left several others injured. The exact date of the recording, however, remains unknown.

In the footage, Umar, described by agencies as one of the most radicalised members of the “white-collar” Faridabad terror module, delivers a troubling monologue on what he calls the “misunderstood” concept of suicide bombing. He attempts to portray such attacks as “martyrdom operations”.

“There are multiple arguments and contradictions that have been brought against it (suicide bombing). Martyrdom operation is when a person presumes that he is going for sure die at a particular place at a particular time, he goes against the presumption that a particular person is going to die. He is going to die in a particular situation,” Umar says in the video.

Officials believe the clip was recorded as a propaganda tool to influence and indoctrinate potential recruits.

Doctor-turned-terror accused was working at Al-Falah University

According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Dr Umar Un Nabi, originally from Kashmir was working as an assistant professor in the General Medicine department at Al-Falah University in Faridabad. The agency said the identity of the blast driver had been established through forensic examination, confirming Umar’s role in the deadly attack.

Investigators further revealed that Umar created an encrypted Signal messaging group around three months before the Red Fort blast, using a handle composed of special characters to avoid detection. He reportedly added Muzammil, Adeel, Muzaffar, and Irfan to the group, which was allegedly used for internal communication and operational planning.
