New Delhi: The Railway Ministry on Wednesday suspended a Train Ticket Examiner (TTE) and initiated a probe after the video of a decorated AC coupe on the Nandigram Express went viral on social media.
"The matter pertains to the South Central Railway Zone. A couple travelling on Train No 11002, the Nandigram Express, on July 6, 2026, had privately engaged an online decorator to decorate their First AC coupe," a senior railway official said.
"The decorator's entry into the coach was unauthorised and is viewed as a serious lapse," he added.
In a statement, the ministry said the staff member concerned (TTE) has been placed under suspension and that a detailed departmental inquiry has been ordered.
"Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings of the inquiry," the statement added. PTI
