Pachmarhi: Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, alleged on Sunday that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls is being used to cover up and institutionalise "vote theft." During his visit to Pachmarhi in Madhya Pradesh for a Congress training camp, he claimed that vote theft, which he had observed in Haryana, where 25 lakh votes were allegedly stolen, is also happening in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.

"Vote theft is an issue, and SIR now, it is about covering it up and institutionalising the system," the Congress MP claimed while talking to reporters here. "A few days ago, I gave a presentation on Haryana, and I clearly saw that vote theft was taking place...25 lakh votes were stolen, 1 in 8 votes were stolen," he added.

Gandhi accused the BJP and the Election Commission of colluding to institutionalise this system of vote theft. He said they possess detailed evidence which they plan to release gradually. Gandhi further claimed that democracy and Ambedkar’s Constitution are under attack through a joint partnership involving Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh.

He also noted that the Congress district presidents' training in Madhya Pradesh received positive feedback. Gandhi's statements strongly criticise the current electoral process and allege manipulation affecting the integrity of democracy.
