New Delhi: The BJP has responded strongly to Congress and Rahul Gandhi's allegations regarding the Adani case. During a press conference, on Wednesday, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticised the opposition and provided a detailed rebuttal to the claims.
Patra addressed the claims made by Congress, stating that the irregularities mentioned in documents filed in a US court were reported between 2021 and 2022. He highlighted that the alleged activities occurred in four states—Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Odisha.
"During this period, none of these states had a BJP government or a BJP-supported government. Congress and other opposition parties were in power in these states," Patra said, dismissing attempts to link the BJP with the allegations.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi's claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s credibility has diminished globally due to his alleged connection with the Adani Group, Patra hit back sharply.
"Rahul Ji, this is not the first time you have tried to tarnish Modi Ji’s credibility. Since 2002, you, your mother, and your party have consistently worked to destroy his image," Patra said.
He also remarked that Rahul Gandhi's statements often invite ridicule.
"Rahul Gandhi provides material for memes, like a hen lays eggs," he quipped, taking a dig at the Congress leader.
Remarks on Priyanka Gandhi and Sangh
Patra didn’t spare Priyanka Gandhi either, accusing her of seeking electoral help from terrorist organisations. He also praised the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), saying its workers are always among the first to provide aid during disasters.
Patra further criticised the Congress party’s mindset, stating that if the BJP had made derogatory remarks against Congress, Rahul Gandhi would have taken it to an international platform, portraying it as a threat to democracy.
