A special court in Pune has awarded the death penalty to Bhimrao Kambale for the rape and murder of a three-year-old girl in Nasrapur village.

Pune: A special court in Pune has awarded the death penalty to a 65-year-old man convicted of raping and murdering a three-year-old girl in Nasrapur village of Pune district.
The convict, Bhimrao Kambale, was found guilty in connection with the crime that took place on May 1, 2026. The case was taken up by a fast-track court and concluded within weeks.
While pronouncing the sentence, the court described the offence as heinous and observed that the nature of the crime and its motive warranted the maximum punishment under law.
