New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to review progress across various areas of the India–UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during his two-day visit to Mumbai, where he will meet his British counterpart, Keir Starmer. The discussions are expected to focus on major pillars such as trade, investment, and economic cooperation.

Modi and Starmer will hold talks on several key initiatives that fall under the partnership’s framework. Beginning his first visit to India since taking office, Starmer will arrive on Wednesday, coinciding with Modi’s schedule in Mumbai.

On Thursday, both leaders will meet business and industry representatives to explore opportunities linked to the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA), which serves as a key component of the evolving economic relationship between the two nations.

Modi and Starmer are also expected to exchange views on regional and global developments. They will engage with policymakers, innovators, and experts from different sectors to discuss strategies for future cooperation.

What are their plans at the Global Fintech Fest 2025?

The two leaders will attend the sixth edition of the Global Fintech Fest at Mumbai’s Jio World Centre on Thursday, where both are scheduled to deliver keynote addresses.

The Global Fintech Fest 2025 aims to unite innovators, regulators, central bankers, investors, and industry leaders from across the world. The event’s theme, “Empowering Finance for a Better World – Powered by AI, Augmented Intelligence, Innovation, and Inclusion,” highlights how technology and human insight can work together to shape a more ethical and sustainable financial future.

This year’s edition is expected to see more than 100,000 participants from over 75 countries, making it one of the largest fintech gatherings globally. The conference will feature 7,500 companies, 800 speakers, 400 exhibitors, and 70 regulators representing both Indian and international jurisdictions.

Which global institutions will participate?

Several prominent international regulators will take part, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the Deutsche Bundesbank of Germany, Banque de France, and the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA). Their presence underlines the growing global recognition of the Global Fintech Fest as a major platform for policy dialogue and financial cooperation.

What infrastructure projects will Modi launch in mumbai?

During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the newly built Navi Mumbai International Airport and dedicate multiple infrastructure projects across the city.

He will also open the final phase of Mumbai Metro Line-3, constructed at a total cost exceeding ₹37,270 crore.

In addition, Modi will unveil “Mumbai One,” India’s first integrated common mobility app that brings together 11 public transport operators under a single digital platform.
