Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned 76 on Thursday, September 17, with birthday greetings pouring in from political leaders and prominent public figures across the country.

Among those who extended their wishes were Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.

While Gandhi shared a brief message wishing the Prime Minister good health and a long life, Shah Rukh Khan posted a more elaborate birthday note on X.

Gandhi took to the social media platform to wish Modi on his birthday, writing that he hoped the Prime Minister would be blessed with good health and longevity.

His message came as leaders from both the ruling establishment and the Opposition extended greetings to Modi on the occasion.

Shah Rukh Khan also joined the list of public figures wishing the Prime Minister.

In his post, the actor wished Modi happiness, good health and fulfilment in the years ahead. He also expressed hope that the Prime Minister would continue to draw on his strength and positivity to inspire the nation.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also conveyed his greetings, wishing Modi a healthy, active and meaningful life. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay similarly extended his birthday wishes, expressing hopes for the Prime Minister's long life and good health.

Modi's 76th birthday was also marked by events organised by the BJP.

The party has announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in connection with his birthday and the completion of 25 years of his public life, with programmes planned between September 17 and October 17.
