PM KISAN 20th installment is coming soon! Check your eligibility, eKYC status, and benefits. Learn how to verify your status and complete necessary formalities

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM KISAN) scheme, an initiative of the Central Government, aims to provide direct income support to all landholding farmer families across India. Following the disbursement of the 19th instalment on February 24, preparations are underway for the 20th instalment. Beneficiaries are advised to complete all necessary formalities and confirm their eligibility status.
Eligibility criteria for PM KISAN
The scheme is open to all families of landholding farmers who possess cultivable land in their names. However, individuals drawing a monthly pension of ₹10,000 or more are not entitled to the scheme’s benefits. Similarly, professionals such as doctors and engineers are excluded from receiving assistance under PM KISAN.
Scheme benefits
Under PM KISAN, eligible farmer families receive an annual financial assistance of ₹6,000. This amount is distributed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000, issued once every four months.
Mandatory formalities for receiving payments
To ensure smooth disbursal of the instalments, beneficiaries must complete their eKYC. There are three available methods: OTP-based verification via mobile app, biometric verification at State Seva Kendras, and facial recognition verification using the PM KISAN mobile app. In addition, farmers must ensure that their land records are verified and that their Aadhaar number is linked to their bank account.
How to verify beneficiary status
Farmers can confirm their beneficiary status by visiting the official PM KISAN website. After selecting the 'Know Your Status' option and entering their registration details, they can view the current status. To check if their name is listed, they should use the ‘Beneficiary List’ feature by selecting their location. New applicants can register via the ‘New Registration’ option on the same portal. The responsibility of identifying eligible beneficiaries lies with the respective State and Union Territory governments.
