Itanagar: On Thursday, BJP leader Pema Khandu was sworn in as Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister for the third time in a row.

The swearing-in event was conducted at the DK State Convention Centre in Itanagar and was attended by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Kiren Rijiju.

In 2016, Khandu, at 44, was appointed Chief Minsier for the first time.

On Wednesday, he was re-elected to represent the BJP Legislature Party in Arunachal Pradesh, which cleared the way for him to take the oath of office as Chief Minister for a record three terms.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General KT Parnaik (retd.) invited Khandu to form the government.

The BJP won 46 seats in the 60-member Arunachal Pradesh assembly in the elections held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha election. Prior to the elections, the BJP won ten seats in the state without facing any opposition.
