Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy passed away late Thursday night while undergoing treatment at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad. He was admitted after suffering a cardiac arrest earlier this week.

According to local media reports, Sudarshan Reddy passed away at 12:50 a.m. after remaining on ventilator support for five days.

The veteran politician developed severe chest pain on July 26 and was initially rushed to a private hospital in Hanamkonda. He was later shifted to Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad for advanced treatment.

After battling for five days, the former legislator succumbed to his condition, leaving BRS leaders, party workers and supporters mourning his demise. BRS Working President K. T. Rama Rao (KTR) expressed profound grief over Sudarshan Reddy's passing, describing it as a significant loss to both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and Telangana society.

He represented the Narsampet Assembly constituency after winning the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections. A close associate and loyal follower of BRS founder K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), he also served as the Chairman of the Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation, playing an important role in the party's organisational and public welfare initiatives.
