The house of Shahid Ahmad Kuttay, an active commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was demolished by authorities in Chotipora, Shopian, reports said on Saturday. Shahid has been reportedly active for the past three to four years and is allegedly involved in numerous anti-national activities. Crackdown over the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack continues to intensify across South Kashmir.

On Friday, authorities reportedly demolished four houses linked to LeT operatives in separate parts of Pulwama, as part of an intensified crackdown on terror infrastructure in South Kashmir, reports indicate.

Among those targeted was the double-storey residence of Ehsan Ahmad Sheikh in Pulwama. Ehsan has reportedly been active since June 2023. The house of Haris Ahmad, another LeT operative active since 2023, was destroyed in a blast in the Kachipora area of the district.

In the Murran area, the residence of Ahsan Ul Haq Sheikh—trained in Pakistan in 2018 and recently returned to the Valley—was also brought down in a blast. He is suspected of involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.

Earlier on Friday, a house in the Monghama area of Tral was destroyed in a powerful explosion. The house reportedly belongs to Asif Sheikh, whose name has surfaced in the investigation into the Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 civilians.
