Noida: A 19-year-old youth from Dankaur, Greater Noida, was left stunned after reportedly receiving a bank alert indicating a deposit running into an unfathomable number of digits in his late mother’s account. The discovery has now drawn the attention of the Income Tax Department.

The teenager, identified as Deepak, reportedly received an SMS from Kotak Mahindra Bank late on Sunday night, August 3, showing a deposit into his late mother’s account of ₹10,01,35,60,00,00,00,00,00,01,00,23,56,00,00,00,00,299—an astronomical sum said to exceed ₹1.13 lakh crore.

Baffled by the sheer size of the figure, Deepak immediately turned to his friends for help counting the zeros to verify what he was seeing.

The following morning, he rushed to the bank to seek clarity. Upon inquiry, bank officials confirmed that such an amount had appeared in the account but informed him that the account had been frozen promptly as a precaution.

The bank reportedly escalated the issue to the Income Tax Department, which has since initiated a formal probe into the unusual transaction. Meanwhile, the bank has launched an internal review to determine whether the amount was the result of a technical error or something more serious.

As word of the incident spread, Deepak received calls and messages from curious friends, neighbours, and relatives, all eager to know if he had struck financial gold. Meanwhile, the internet had a field day, joking that Deepak was now “richer than Ambani and Shah Rukh Khan.”
