Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh): A newly-wed couple was found dead in separate rooms at their residence in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district on Saturday, with police suspecting suicide.

The incident took place in Moti Chhapra village under the Nebua Naurangia police station limits, officials said.

According to the police, a domestic dispute is believed to have led to the couple taking their own lives by hanging themselves in different rooms.

The deceased have been identified as Ajit Kumar (25) son of Nand Kishore and his wife Sangeeta Devi (22) daughter of Gautam Prasad. Both were residents of Chhapra within the police station area. The couple had tied the knot just six months ago.

Circle Officer (CO) Umesh Chandra Bhatt stated that upon receiving the report, the police reached the location and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.
