In a major relief for travellers planning summer vacations, the Malda Division of Eastern Railway has announced a special train service between Malda Town and the popular seaside destination Digha.

The move comes in response to the expected surge in passenger traffic during the peak holiday season.

Railway officials said the special service aims to ensure a smoother and more comfortable journey for tourists heading towards the coast.

With Digha being one of the most sought-after beach destinations in eastern India during summer, the initiative is expected to significantly ease travel pressure on regular trains.

Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Manish Kumar Gupta stated that the train will pass through several key stations, including New Farakka, Pakur, Rampurhat, Sainthia, Bolpur Shantiniketan, Bardhaman, Dankuni, Andul, Mecheda, Tamluk and Kanthi.

This will benefit passengers from multiple districts along the route. He also highlighted that the train will include a range of coach options to cater to different categories of travellers, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all.
