A video of a young woman narrating her alleged sexual harassment on the Namma Metro has gone viral on social media, earning widespread praise for her courage in coming forward. The incident reportedly occurred around 7 p.m. on December 23 while she was returning from work.

In the video, the woman explains that she initially sat comfortably between two passengers. However, after the passenger next to her got off and a new man took the seat, he allegedly sat too close and deliberately touched her chest and leg despite her protests. She initially thought it was an accident, but when it repeated, she froze, unsure how to react.

"After a few seconds, his hand came again. That's when I realised it was not a mistake but intentional...I got up and slapped him. I gave him a tight slap and asked him to get up," she said. She added that she also slapped the man again on the platform as he showed contradictory expressions, sometimes apologising and sometimes smiling.

Metro security intervened and took both of them to the Metro office, after which she insisted on contacting the police. She later filed a formal complaint at Upparpet Police Station.

Police confirmed that a non-cognisable report has been registered under charges of indecent behaviour and sexual harassment. CCTV footage from the Metro is being examined, and the accused, a 45-year-old man, may face action based on the investigation.
