Nagpur woman goes missing from last village near LoC in Kargil, leaves 15-year-old son behind

Ladakh: A 36-year-old woman from Nagpur has mysteriously gone missing from Hunderban village, the last village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kargil district, Ladakh.
According to Kargil Additional Superintendent of Police Nitin Yadav, the woman arrived in Kargil on May 9 with her 15-year-old son and checked into a hotel. On May 14, she left the hotel with her son behind to visit Hunderban village but never returned.
The incident was reported after the hotel staff noticed her absence that night. Police questioned the son, who said they had been touring several places, including locations in Punjab, before arriving in Kargil. A special search team has been formed to trace the missing woman, but no leads have been found yet. Police described the case as "worrisome" due to the location near the sensitive LoC area.
The woman’s family confirmed she was divorced about ten years ago and had previously worked as a nurse in Mumbai and Nagpur. She also ran a tailoring business, now managed by her two sisters. The women and child welfare committee officials are currently taking care of the son, who is traumatised, and will hand him over to relatives after due procedures.
Police continue their investigation amid heightened concerns because of the proximity to the LoC.
