Mysuru: The father of one of the two men who caused a commotion in the Lok Sabha chamber on Wednesday claimed that his son is honest and truthful and has always wanted to do good for society.

"My son is a good boy. He is honest and truthful. His only desire is to do good for the society and sacrifice for the society. He used to read Swami Vivekananda's books. I think he developed such thoughts after reading these books," Devaraje Gowda, father of Manoranjan, told reporters.

Gowda went on to say that it is difficult to understand what was running in his son's mind. Manoranjan is said to have completed his BE (Bachelor in Engineering) in 2016 and was looking after the farm. His father also revealed that Manoranjan worked in some firms in Delhi and Bengaluru.

Manoranjan and Sagar Sharma jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the pubic gallery, threw canisters filled with yellow-coloured smoke and shouted slogans before being overpowered by MPs.

Around the same time, police arrested two individuals, including a woman, for releasing coloured gas and shouting slogans outside the Parliament premises. PTI
