Ludhiana: A multistory building collapsed here on Saturday evening, causing panic among residents. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud blast-like sound moments before the structure crumbled.

It is reported that six workers may be trapped beneath the rubble. Rescue teams are actively working to locate and evacuate those stuck. 

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann posted on X about the incident, saying, "A factory building collapse has been reported in Ludhiana. I have issued instructions to the administration to take immediate stock of the situation. Rescue teams have arrived and they have started their work. I wish the workers buried under the debris to come out safely and recover soon".

Jitendra Jorwal, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ludhiana, said, "In the Focal Point 8 area, we received information this evening that the building of a factory collapsed. Six workers are trapped. Rescue operations are underway. NDRF teams have reached the spot. A magisterial inquiry will be done that will submit the report".
