A massive fire broke out at a scrap warehouse on the Halol–Pavagadh road in Panchmahal district of Gujarat, sending thick black smoke into the sky and prompting an emergency response from fire services.

Gujarat: A sudden and intense fire erupted on Monday at a scrap godown located along the Halol–Pavagadh road in Panchmahal district, Gujarat. The blaze spread rapidly, engulfing the warehouse and affecting at least two nearby godowns.
Thick plumes of black smoke were visible from several kilometres away, causing panic among local residents and commuters passing through the area. The intensity of the fire made it difficult to control in the initial stages.
Fire tenders were immediately deployed to the spot and are actively working to bring the situation under control. Firefighters are reportedly facing challenges due to the nature of materials stored in scrap warehouses, which can fuel rapid fire spread.
As of now, there are no confirmed reports of casualties or injuries in the incident. Authorities have also not yet determined the cause of the fire. A detailed assessment of the damage will be carried out once the fire is fully extinguished.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire started suddenly and intensified within a short span of time, quickly spreading across the premises. The visibility of heavy smoke columns indicated the scale of the blaze and raised concerns among nearby residents and businesses.
Authorities are expected to investigate the origin of the fire once the situation is stabilised. Possible causes in such incidents often include electrical faults, accidental ignition, or improper handling of combustible materials, though no official confirmation has been made in this case.
