Mandrem: A major fire erupted on Thursday at a beachside resort in the Mandrem area of North Goa, engulfing three cottages, reportedly including Dallas Beach Resort and prompting an urgent response from local emergency services.

Upon being alerted to the blaze, fire crews were dispatched to the site to contain the spreading flames. Namdev Pawar, the in-charge of the Pernem Fire Station, confirmed the scale of the incident and the ongoing efforts to mitigate the damage.

"Fire broke out at three cottages near a beachside property in Mandrem," Pawar said. "Emergency teams are rushing to the spot to bring the situation under control."

Witnesses reported thick plumes of smoke rising from the property, which is situated near a popular coastal stretch. While the fire caused substantial damage to the structures, authorities have not yet reported any casualties.

Local officials are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause of the blaze once the site is fully secured. The incident has renewed discussions regarding fire safety protocols and response infrastructure within Goa’s rapidly expanding coastal tourism hubs.
