Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh: A heartbreaking video from a Re-NEET examination centre in Madhya Pradesh's Vidisha has triggered a fresh political debate over India's examination system, after former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal shared footage showing a distraught father pleading with authorities to allow his daughter to enter the exam centre.

The video, which has gone viral on social media, captures the father breaking down outside the examination venue after his daughter was reportedly denied entry following a slight delay and biometric verification issues. The emotional scenes have sparked widespread reactions online, with many questioning whether rigid exam regulations are leaving students and families to bear the cost of administrative failures.

Sharing the video on X, Kejriwal launched a sharp attack on the Centre, asking whether the government could truly understand the pain of parents and students caught in such situations.

"Can this government understand a father's agony? Can this government ever understand the mental state of children?" he wrote.

The Aam Aadmi Party chief further linked the incident to the larger controversy surrounding national-level examinations, alleging that repeated irregularities and paper leak allegations have already subjected students to prolonged uncertainty and stress.

"The mistake is the government's, the incompetence is Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's, but the punishment is being borne by the children of the country and their families," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal also invoked a reference from the Mahabharata while criticising the government's handling of examination-related controversies.

"Like Dhritarashtra, to know everything and yet sit with eyes closed is the greatest sin," he said, accusing the Centre of ignoring the hardships faced by students despite repeated concerns over the examination system.

What happened at the Vidisha re-NEET centre?

According to reports, three students were unable to appear for the Re-NEET examination at a centre in Vidisha due to a combination of factors, including delayed arrival, biometric registration problems and discrepancies in admit card details.

One of the affected students reportedly reached the centre only a few minutes after the stipulated reporting time. Her father repeatedly appealed to officials to allow her entry, fearing that losing the opportunity would effectively cost her an academic year.

In the video shared by Kejriwal on X, the devastated father can be seen striking his head against the locked gate before collapsing to the ground in tears and pleading with officials to allow his daughter inside. Despite the emotional appeals, officials allegedly refused to make an exception, citing examination rules and procedural requirements.

In separate cases, other students were reportedly denied entry over minor errors in their admit cards, leaving families devastated after months of preparation.
