IRCTC’s SwaRail app unifies ticket booking, food delivery, train tracking, and tourism into one platform

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has introduced a new mobile application named SwaRail, designed to integrate nearly all railway-related services into one unified digital platform. The app, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), is currently in its testing phase (version v127) and is available for Android users via the Google Play Store.
SwaRail brings together a wide range of services including train reservations, live train tracking, meal booking, tourism packages, and station amenities. With its aim to simplify the passenger experience, the app offers a one-stop solution for planning and managing train journeys.
Designed with a clean, intuitive interface, SwaRail allows passengers to check PNR status, order meals, access station facilities, and browse tourism-related offerings, all within a single, easy-to-navigate dashboard. The app removes the hassle of switching between multiple applications or repeatedly logging in, making it easier for users to stay informed and organised.
Among the most useful features is real-time train tracking, providing timely updates for those waiting at stations or planning theirjourney. This function offers greater convenience and transparency for travellers, particularly during delays or schedule changes.
Users can sign in using their existing IRCTC Rail Connect credentials, or they can create a new account directly through the app. Its Single Sign-On (SSO) capability ensures that multiple services are accessible with a single login, streamlining the entire process.
Features of SwaRail App:
Described as the “SuperApp” of Indian Railways, SwaRail brings a host of passenger services under one roof. These include:
- Booking for both reserved and unreserved tickets
- Platform ticket purchases
- Parcel and freight service inquiries
- Real-time PNR status and live train tracking
- Food ordering on board
- Access to Rail Madad for complaint registration and grievance tracking
By adding these varied offerings into a single application, SwaRail aims to transform the way millions of Indians engage with rail travel, creating a smoother and more efficient digital journey from start to finish.
