On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, India’s largest domestic airline – IndiGo unveiled the inside look of its brand-new business class aircraft called the Indigo Stretch. IndiGo had previously announced its new business product three months back in August 2024 as a part of its 18th Anniversary celebrations.

IndiGo plans to deploy its new business class offering on domestic routes connecting Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. It will bring IndiGo at par with Air India Group’s airlines offering business class on domestic routes.

Emphasizing IndiGo’s commitment to enhancing travel options in India, chief executive, Pieter Elbers said: “We plan to enhance passenger experience while maintaining our reputation for affordability. This move represents a significant evolution for IndiGo, which has long been recognized for its no-frills approach to air travel.”

The airline launched its business class service at an introductory fare of INR 18,018 for the Delhi-Mumbai route. With Indigo Stretch, the airline plans to cover all 12 routes by the end of next year. This phased approach aims to gradually introduce more travelers to the enhanced business-class experience.

IndiGo Stretch promises a superior travel experience with coupe-style seating arranged in a spacious 2-seat wide configuration. Each seat features a generous pitch of 38 inches and a width of 21.3 inches, ensuring ample room for relaxation.

  • A 5-inch deep recline for enhanced comfort

IndiGo has partnered with Oberoi Catering Services to provide specially curated healthy meal options for business class travelers. Passengers will receive a complimentary vegetarian meal box and a diverse selection of beverages.

Exclusive cabin design for IndiGo Stretch

The IndiGo Stretch cabin will feature 12 seats arranged in a comfortable 2-2 layout. Meanwhile, the standard 6E cabin will maintain its configuration of 208 seats, including XL seating options in the middle section of the aircraft.

By 2027, the airline plans to start deploying its jumbo Airbus A350-900 planes, for passengers seeking more comfort on domestic routes. As of now, the airline covers 400 routes, including 34 international destinations with plans for major domestic and international expansion.
