Nagpur: An IndiGo aircraft carrying 272 passengers was forced to return to Nagpur airport shortly after take-off on Monday following a bird strike. The flight, which was headed to Kolkata, made an emergency landing after the crew decided to turn back mid-air.
Officials confirmed that the front portion of the plane was damaged in the incident. An image from the runway showed an airport staff member closely inspecting the aircraft after it landed safely.
All passengers on board, including several well-known personalities such as Sudhakar Kohle, Shekhar Bhoyar, and Nitin Kumbhalkar, were reported safe. No injuries were sustained.
Airport authorities along with IndiGo representatives are carrying out further checks and assessing the extent of the damage.
