IndiGo features in Cirium’s top 10 most punctual Asia-Pacific airlines for 2025 despite year-end disruptions

IndiGo has been named among the 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region for 2025 by global aviation data firm Cirium, highlighting its overall on-time performance despite operational challenges late in the year.
According to Cirium’s annual On-Time Performance Review, IndiGo secured a place in the top 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region. The ranking evaluates how consistently airlines operate flights on schedule, based on extensive real-time global flight data.

Cirium considers a flight to be on time if it arrives within 14 minutes and 59 seconds of its scheduled gate arrival. The same benchmark is applied to airport departure punctuality, ensuring uniform measurement across regions and carriers.
The report noted that IndiGo recorded on-time performance of 80% or higher between June and October 2025, reflecting stable operations during much of the year in one of the world’s busiest aviation markets.
IndiGo faced significant delays and cancellations in November and December following changes to flight crew duty time limitation (FDTL) rules. The impact was most visible during the peak travel period in early December.
At one point, IndiGo cancelled all departures from Delhi to reset its operations. Cirium observed that this decisive move helped the airline stabilise quickly, allowing it to resume more than 1,000 daily flights with minimal cancellations soon after.
The top 10 most punctual airlines in the region for 2025 were Philippine Airlines, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, IndiGo, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Australia, Qantas and Korean Air.
Punctuality remains a key factor for travellers, particularly in regions with heavy air traffic and tight connections. Cirium’s rankings, reviewed by an independent advisory board, are widely used as a benchmark for airline operational reliability.
