Following IndiGo flight disruptions, three major railway zones have launched special trains. Travellers are advised to verify timings and reach stations ahead of departure.

Chennai: Amid the ongoing airline crisis and large-scale flight cancellations, Indian Railways has announced 89 more special train services, totalling more than 100 trips, to support stranded passengers and manage the surge in winter travel demand, as per reports.
In an official statement, Indian Railways said the decision follows “widespread demand” and aims to ensure smooth travel for passengers hit by the ongoing flight disruption, particularly those affected by the IndiGo flight cancellations across major routes.
To manage the sudden travel rush, South Western Railway, in coordination with Central Railway, South Eastern Railway, and Southern Railway, has announced a series of special services between December 6 and 10.
South Western Railway will operate:
Chennai Egmore – KSR Bengaluru specials on December 7 and 8
Bengaluru – Chennai Central on December 8
Yesvantpur – Hazrat Nizamuddin on December 7 and 8
Bengaluru – Pune on December 7 and 8
Central Railway will run:
Pune – Bengaluru specials on December 7
South Eastern Railway will operate Shalimar – Yelahanka specials on December 7 and 9.
Southern Railway will run:
Ernakulam – Yelahanka specials on December 7 and 8
Advisory for Passengers
Railways has advised passengers to check official railway communication channels for exact train timings, stoppages and booking status. Travellers have also been urged to reach railway stations early due to the heavy rush expected over the next several days.
