Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut reacted to the protest organised by Cockroach Janatha Party (CJP) in the national capital amid the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, saying the government cannot be pressured into deciding who should remain in office.

Her remarks came as Opposition MPs continued demonstrations demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG 2026 controversy.

Speaking on the issue, Ranaut stressed that Parliament is the place where questions should be raised and governments held accountable, instead of allowing disruptions to stall proceedings.

"Our parliamentary session is for o that we can discuss all issues in detail, and the government is held accountable for everything. That is its purpose, and we want the session to proceed and for them to raise their questions there, but if they create a ruckus and cause chaos there, as they are doing with this protest, then that is not right," she said.

She also responded to demands seeking the removal of ministers, stating, "You cannot arm-twist the government into deciding who to sack and who to keep. This arm-twisting is not good."

Referring to calls for Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation, Ranaut added, "It is the right of the government chosen by the people to decide how to run the government. If you feel so strongly, you should stand for election yourself."

The Lok Sabha witnessed repeated interruptions on the opening day of the Monsoon Session after obituary references to six former Members of Parliament. Opposition MPs raised slogans seeking discussions on the NEET-UG 2026 examination controversy and allegations related to donations made to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in Ayodhya.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla appealed to members to allow proceedings to continue, asking them to remain seated and cooperate in running the House. Despite repeated requests, the disruptions continued, leading to the House being adjourned until noon.

The Opposition had earlier indicated it would press for discussions on both the NEET-UG 2026 controversy and the Ram Mandir donation matter during the Monsoon Session.
