AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi stirred a political storm by challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to emulate US President Donald Trump’s Venezuela action and bring back the masterminds of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks from Pakistan.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday launched a scathing attack on the Narendra Modi-led government, invoking the dramatic US operation against Venezuela to question India’s response to the 26/11 terror attacks.
Addressing a public meeting in Mumbai, Owaisi said, “We saw today that US President Donald Trump’s forces captured Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and took him from his country to America.”

Directly addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Owaisi asked why India could not take similar decisive action against terrorists sheltered in Pakistan.
“If Trump can send his military and abduct the president of another country, and if Saudi Arabia can bomb Yemeni ports, then why can’t India send troops to Pakistan and bring back the masterminds of 26/11?” Owaisi asked, naming Masood Azhar and Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives. Mocking the Prime Minister’s oft-quoted bravado, Owaisi added, “Modiji, if you have a 56-inch chest, then abduct them and bring them back to India.”

Owaisi’s remarks came in the backdrop of Trump’s claim that US forces carried out a large-scale overnight operation in Venezuela, capturing Maduro and flying him to the United States. Trump said the operation knocked out power in parts of Caracas and was conducted with US law enforcement support.
Earlier yesterday, Trump said that Maduro and his wife are now in US custody and will face trial on American soil for alleged drug trafficking, with Washington temporarily taking control of Venezuela until a “safe transition” is ensured.
