Hyderabad: A shocking video has emerged showing a nursery student in Shapur Nagar here being allegedly beaten and thrown to the ground by a school helper (aaya) on Sunday.

Following a complaint from the child's parents, a case was registered against the staffer, and she was taken into custody.

According to a Republic TV report, the child developed a high fever following the incident and had to be hospitalised.

The incident came to light after a local resident recorded the assault on a mobile phone and shared the footage on social media.

According to media reports, the girl had soiled her clothes during class. The teacher reportedly instructed the school helper to assist the child in changing, but instead of helping, the staff allegedly dragged the girl into an open area and physically assaulted her.

The video, which runs for approximately four minutes, shows the helper repeatedly slapping the child, pulling her by the hair, throwing her to the ground, and banging her head on the floor. The child’s cries can be heard throughout the recording as the alleged assault continues.
