Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP leader B S Yediyurappa, who returned to Bengaluru on Saturday, addressed the media a day after the High Court stayed a non-bailable warrant against him. He attributed the ongoing POCSO case to causing "necessary confusion" and confirmed his intent to face the court on June 17.

Upon his arrival at Bengaluru airport, Yediyurappa remarked, "There was some important work, which is why I had gone to Delhi. I informed the people concerned that I would return on the 17th."

A Bengaluru court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Yediyurappa on Thursday, directing his immediate arrest in connection with allegations of sexual assault against a minor girl under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

"Everyone knows everything, and I have full faith in the judiciary that I will get justice. I will appear before the court on the 17th," Yediyurappa asserted.

BJP leaders have alleged a "political conspiracy" against Yediyurappa. The senior BJP leader is facing serious allegations under the POCSO Act and Section 354A (Sexual Harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The charges arise from a complaint filed by the mother of a 17-year-old, alleging that Yediyurappa molested the minor during a meeting at his residence in Dollars Colony, Bengaluru, on February 2 of this year.

These allegations have garnered significant media attention, placing the senior politician under intense scrutiny. ANI
