Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) recently shared glimpses from the upcoming musical ‘Mera Desh Pehle: The Untold Story of Shri Narendra Modi’ on their social media platform X, drawing widespread attention across the country.

In one of the clips, lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir explains the meaning of unity, "Mathematically, one plus one equals two. But in life, one plus one can become eleven — symbolising association; zero — representing spirituality; or one — symbolising love. When people are kept apart, that’s diplomacy or tactics. When they are set against each other, that’s corrupt politics. But when we unite, we are safe. That unity is our true strength — our national policy."

Another clip touches on a difficult period in India’s history when Indira Gandhi imposed the Emergency. Muntashir said, "Overnight, India’s very identity changed. The public’s right to even raise their voice was taken away. People were forced to accept oppression and even thank the government for every blow they faced."

The makers of ‘Mera Desh Pehle’ hosted a special screening of the musical on Sunday at the prestigious Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai. The event was attended by some of Bollywood’s biggest names, including Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Janhvi Kapoor, and other prominent celebrities, along with leading business personalities.

The musical is a saga that traces the remarkable journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from his childhood to his rise as one of India’s most influential leaders. Conceptualised and written by Manoj Muntashir, directed by Deepak Gattani, and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the production promises a compelling portrayal of Modi’s life and leadership.

‘Mera Desh Pehle’ features powerful musical performances by acclaimed singers such as B Praak, Sneha Shankar, Rishi Singh, Ashish Kulkarni, and Ujwal Gajbhar.
