New Delhi: Love bloomed across party lines and ended in a glittering shaadi bash as firebrand TMC MP Mahua Moitra and suave former BJD MP Pinaki Misra threw a glitzy wedding reception that had the Capital’s political circles buzzing louder than the Lok Sabha during Question Hour.

Held at the swanky Hotel Lalit, the Tuesday night gala was a heady mix of politics, paparazzi, and pyaar. The guest list was as cross-party as it gets, with leaders from all corners of the ideological rainbow showing up to clink glasses and click selfies.

Samajwadi Party’s Virendra Singh (of Chandauli fame) turned social media reporter for the night, sharing snapshots and best wishes. “Attended the reception of TMC MP Mahua Moitra ji and former MP Pinaki Misra ji at Hotel Lalit. I wish them a happy married life,” he posted, sprinkling warm fuzzies across X (formerly Twitter).

Fellow TMC parliamentarian and Rajya Sabha Deputy Leader Sagarika Ghose joined the virtual cheer squad, posting, “Wishing beautiful bride @MahuaMoitra and Pinaki Misra every happiness at their lovely reception this evening. Big congratulations.”

And speaking of the bride, Mahua wowed in a regal red saree embroidered in gold, paired with jewellery that could rival any Mughal treasure chest. Pinaki Misra kept it classic in a crisp white kurta with a red embroidered border, looking every bit the gentleman of Parliament and pyaar.

One viral photo had Congress matriarch Sonia Gandhi and Rajya Sabha MP Ranjeet Ranjan in a candid dinner-table moment, exuding vintage Delhi durbar vibes.

The couple, who reportedly tied the knot in a hush-hush ceremony in Germany earlier this year, were all smiles as they greeted well-wishers, posed for photos, and soaked in the love, minus any political punches.

From committee rooms to couple goals – Mahua and Pinaki’s reception was less Cabinet, more Karan Johar, and Delhi’s power corridors couldn’t stop swooning.
