Bhavnagar: A 26-year-old Flipkart delivery agent has been arrested in Gujarat for allegedly stealing parcels containing mobile phones and other goods worth Rs 4.60 lakh and attempting to sell the items without bills, police said on Saturday.
The accused, Rutvik Makwana, also known as Koli, was arrested on October 23 by the Bhavnagar Local Crime Branch (LCB). Police recovered 13 mobile phones and a range of electronic devices, clothing, perfumes and personal care products valued at Rs 4,60,512.
The case came to light after the LCB received information that a man was selling mobile phones and other goods without bills or supporting documents on a public road near Gangajaliya Lake on Motibaug Road in Bhavnagar.
Police reached the spot and questioned Makwana about the items in his possession. As he failed to produce documents proving ownership or offer a satisfactory explanation, officers seized the goods as suspected stolen property and arrested him.
