Madurai: A major fire erupted at a paper godown near the Vaigai South Bank area in Madurai on Wednesday, causing significant damage and destroying two vehicles parked inside the premises.

Over 20 firefighters were swiftly deployed to the scene and managed to bring the blaze under control after battling the flames for nearly an hour. The fire reduced the two vehicles within the godown to ashes, though no casualties have been reported so far.

Visuals from the site show firefighters, assisted by local residents, working together to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and an investigation is underway.
