New Delhi: An Alliance Air aircraft carrying about 40 people made an emergency landing at Delhi airport on Friday afternoon after one engine failed, according to a source.

The aircraft, an ATR 72-600 twin-engine turboprop, was operating flight 9I 698 from Prayagraj to the national capital when the incident occurred.

The plane landed safely at Delhi airport, the source said.

The aircraft landed at around 2.15 pm, according to information available on the flight-tracking website Flightradar24.com.

The source said the aircraft had around 40 people on board when it made the emergency landing after one of its engines became inoperative.

There was no immediate comment from Alliance Air. PTI
