Former Trinamool MP and actor Mimi Chakraborty has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in a probe linked to an illegal betting app case.

Kolkata, Sept 14 — The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned former Trinamool Congress MP and Bengali actor Mimi Chakraborty in connection with an ongoing probe into an illegal betting app case, officials said on Saturday.
Chakraborty, who stepped down as MP earlier this year, has been asked to appear before ED investigators in Kolkata later this month. The summons relates to alleged financial transactions linked to the app, which authorities say laundered large sums of money through shell companies.
The ED has already questioned several individuals, including celebrities and influencers, in connection with the case. Investigators allege that promotional campaigns for the app were used to channel illicit funds.
Neither Chakraborty nor the Trinamool Congress has issued a statement so far on the fresh summons.
The betting app case has drawn wide attention in Bengal after the agency claimed that proceeds from the platform were routed into both domestic and overseas accounts.
