Delhi Police forcibly bundled several journalists, including reporters and camera crews from Malayalam channels Asianet News and 24 News, into police vehicles while they were covering the AISA protest at Connaught Place. They were released after brief detention.

New Delhi: In an unprecedented move targeting press coverage of the ongoing demonstrations in the capital, Delhi Police detained several media personnel reporting on the All India Students' Association (AISA) protest at Connaught Place. The detained journalists included reporters and camera crews from prominent Malayalam news channels, including Asianet News and 24 News, who were released hours later.
Despite clearly displaying official press identification cards and carrying station-branded microphones, journalists were forcibly pushed into police vans. Visuals from the scene show officers shoving media personnel into vehicles despite no active law-and-order disruption or violent behavior at the location.
Reports indicate that at least seven to eight journalists were picked up from RK Ashram Marg without explanation while attempting to record the police action.
Simultaneously, security forces cracked down on student demonstrators. AISA leader Neha Bora was taken into custody after attempting to cross police barricades, while several other student activists were forcibly dragged away from the site. Heavy security deployments, comprising Sansad Marg Police, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have completely cordoned off the surrounding roads leading toward Sansad Marg.
