The announcement came during a live press conference broadcast from Ovation Hollywood

Mumbai: In a groundbreaking moment for Indian cinema, Deepika Padukone has etched her name in history as the first-ever Indian actress to be honoured with a star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The announcement came during a live press conference broadcast from Ovation Hollywood, where Deepika’s name shone alongside global luminaries from film, music, television, live performance, and sports entertainment. Among those joining her in the prestigious Class of 2026 are Miley Cyrus, Timothée Chalamet, Emily Blunt, French actress Marion Cotillard, Canadian star Rachel McAdams, Italian legend Franco Nero, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.
The honorees were carefully chosen by the Walk of Fame selection panel of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from "hundreds" of nominations during a meeting on June 20, and the final list was ratified by the Chamber's board of directors on June 25.
“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026,” said Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee.
A Star Who Crossed Continents: Deepika Padukone’s journey to international acclaim has been nothing short of spectacular.
She made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with xXx: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel, and since then, has graced the covers of global magazines, stunned on the red carpets of Cannes and the Met Gala, and earned spots on TIME’s 100 most influential people list and Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report.
In 2023, Deepika introduced India’s beloved Naatu Naatu from SS Rajamouli’s RRR (2022) to the world stage at the Academy Awards — the song later clinched the Oscar for Best Original Score, marking a moment of pride for Indian cinema.
A Crown That Keeps Shining: With this historic recognition, Deepika Padukone has added yet another gleaming jewel to her crown, becoming the first Indian actress ever to be immortalized on Hollywood Boulevard.
As her star is set to shine on the Walk of Fame in 2026, it also signals a milestone for global representation and the growing influence of Indian talent on the world stage
