In a decisive move to combat pollution, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has announced a complete ban on firecrackers in Delhi, extending until January 1, 2025.
According to the order, a complete ban should be observed on all kinds of firecrackers on manufacturing, storage and selling including delivery through online marketing platforms and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers upto 01.01.2025.
The order comes amid growing concerns about air quality in the capital, particularly during the festive season when cracker usage typically spikes.
The CPCB's directive aims to address the severe air pollution that often plagues Delhi, especially during the winter months when smog levels rise.
