India has reported a rise in active Covid-19 cases, surpassing 1,000, with Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi topping the list of affected states.

New Delhi: As of Monday morning, 26 May 2025, India has recorded over 1,000 active Covid-19 cases, according to data released by the Union health ministry.
A total of 752 new cases were confirmed in the latest update. The country now has 1,009 active cases, with Kerala leading at 430, followed by Maharashtra with 209, Delhi with 104, and Karnataka with 47.
Other states, including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir currently report no active Covid-19 cases.
The nationwide recovery figure stands at 4,45,11,545, while the cumulative number of Covid-related deaths has reached 5,33,673.
The health ministry continues to monitor the situation, though hospitalisation rates remain low. Citizens are advised to maintain hygiene and remain cautious, particularly in states reporting higher numbers.
