In a major electoral roll revision exercise in Bihar, approximately 56 lakh names have been removed from the voters' list, according to data from the State Intensive Revision (SIR). The revision has so far covered 98.01 per cent of electors across the state.

Officials report that around 20 lakh electors have been marked as deceased, while 28 lakh have permanently migrated. Additionally, 7 lakh individuals were found to be enrolled in more than one constituency, and another 1 lakh remain untraceable. Furthermore, 15 lakh electors did not return the verification forms. Despite this, the process has seen considerable progress, with 7.17 crore forms—accounting for 90.89 per cent of total electors—successfully received and digitised.
