A late-night collision on Bareilly Highway turned tragic after a speeding DCM rammed into an Alto car, killing three people, including a child.

A horrific road accident claimed three lives, including that of a child, late Sunday night on Bareilly Highway under the Qadri Gate police station limits.
According to police, a speeding DCM (mini truck) crushed an Alto car near Sharda Cold Storage in front of village Bhaupur Khurd. The collision was so intense that the car was completely mangled, trapping the occupants inside and triggering panic at the scene.

Upon receiving information, police teams rushed to the spot. With assistance from local villagers, officers carried out a rescue operation to extricate those trapped in the wreckage. All injured occupants were immediately shifted to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment.
Doctors confirmed that three victims, including a child, succumbed to their injuries during treatment. One person remains in critical condition, officials said.
The accident led to a temporary traffic jam on the highway as emergency services managed the situation and cleared the damaged vehicle. Police have launched a search for the DCM driver, who fled the scene after the crash.
An investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident, with authorities examining possible overspeeding and negligence.
