Guwahati: Four ministers, including representatives from BJP allies the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), are set to take oath in the new NDA government in Assam on May 12, along with Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma.
In a post on X, Sarma confirmed the names of the ministers who will be sworn in, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present for the ceremony.
“Happy to announce that the following four colleagues of mine will take oath as Ministers tomorrow along with me in the august presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji — Shri Rameswar Teli, Shri Atul Bora, Shri Charan Boro, Smt Ajanta Neog,” Sarma said.
Among them, Atul Bora is the president of AGP and Charan Boro represents the BPF. Both had served as ministers in the previous NDA government. Ajanta Neog also held a ministerial portfolio earlier, while Rameswar Teli is a former Union Minister of State who has returned to state politics following the 2026 Assembly elections.

Sarma further announced that former minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass will be the NDA’s candidate for the post of Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
“I am also happy to share that Shri Ranjit Das, Hon’ble MLA, will be our candidate for the post of Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly,” he added.
Extending his congratulations, Sarma said the new team would work towards building a “stronger, more developed and prosperous Assam.”
