Two men have been arrested in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, for allegedly circulating a morphed and objectionable image of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Bareilly: Police in Bareilly have detained two youths accused of posting a digitally altered and objectionable image of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath online.
The accused were identified as Asif Saifi (24) and Imran (21). They were arrested near Richha Railway Station following a tip-off, police officials confirmed. Two mobile phones reportedly used to share the edited image were seized during the operation.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Mukesh Chandra Mishra, the morphed photo was shared on October 2 and quickly went viral, triggering strong reactions across social media platforms. Investigation teams traced the accounts responsible for the post back to the two men from Bareilly district.
A case was registered at Deorania police station, and both accused were taken into custody. During interrogation, they allegedly admitted to circulating the image under the influence of others.
The two have since been sent to jail, and police said further investigation is underway to determine who directed or encouraged them to share the morphed content.
